The objective of this paper is to propose taxonomy of the manufacturing Tunisian SMEs in\nterms of the commitment levels in the Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO). We are trying to\npresent a better explanation for the heterogeneity of the performance levels achieved by the\nTunisian companies, especially in this economic and social situation of crisis facing the country\nin the last few years. In order to prove this, weââ?¬â?¢ve mobilized a taxonomic approach and adopted\na quantitative approach based on a questionnaire which was administered near the business\nmanagers of 110 Tunisian industrial small and medium-size companies. Our obtained empirical\nresults demonstrate that the configurations deduced from the quantitative analysis are strongly\ndistinct from each other. Thus, the various levels of EO which we have released ensure the\ndiscrimination between the various classes of the surveyed companies. Three configurations\nemerge from this study, they are: Configuration 1: ââ?¬Å?The audaciousââ?¬Â, configuration 2: ââ?¬Å?The\ntentativistsââ?¬Â and configuration 3: ââ?¬Å?The temporizingââ?¬Â....
This paper investigates the criteria used by loan officers at Bank Al Tanmeya when assessing\nSMEs loan applications and the most frequent reasons that lead to turn these applications\ndown. To achieve this, a qualitative research method was adopted. The data were gathered\nusing semi-structured interviews with loan officers at the bank. The results show that the\nability to provide collateral and good business plans alongside the profitability of the\nbusiness are very important. Other criteria such as the applicants credit history, their\nbusiness experience and the type of business activity are also important. Further, the results\nindicate that SMEs loan applications are generally rejected on the ground that they are not\nrobust enough from the bankers viewpoint. While lack of collateral is the most frequent\nreason, other reasons include weaknesses in business plan, concerns about the loan\nrepayment, and doubts about the viability of business ventures. These results have the\nability to increase awareness and broaden understanding of the factors that may affect\nSMEs access to bank loans from a supply side perspective....

The purpose of this paper is to explore empirically the effects of size asymmetry between\nSmall and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Multinational Corporations (MNCs) on the\nperformance of these companies in an alliance. We analyze the effects of this asymmetry on\nalliance performance, both direct effects and indirect ones related to trust from the\nperspective of ten French SMEs operating in the aircraft manufacturing industry. The\nprevious findings suggest a negative relationship between size asymmetry and\nperformance. Our empirical results reveal that size asymmetry between partners has\ndifferent direct and indirect effects on performance. These effects depend on the specific\ndimension of performance under consideration. We observe for example that size\nasymmetry has no negative direct and indirect effects on financial performance and\norganizational learning of the SME. In addition, we find that there is a direct and significant\nnegative influence of size asymmetry on relational performance....
